We are all wondering how recent events globally, the coronavirus pandemic and the worldwide economy slowing will impact our jobs and lives. Many different industries are affected from hospitality and tourism to the energy sector. There is not one aspect of our lives that has not been touched.

The lack of structure in our lockdown lives and the unknown of what the new normal will be is unsettling for all. What we do know is that there will be change. Whether this change is temporary or permanent remains to be seen.

Our Business Development Director, Jonathan White, was recently asked to take part in a Radio 4 programme on the effect of the crash in oil price and said “whilst the cheap oil price  may mean cheap fuel (which we presently can’t use!) or cheaper energy bills the fall in the crude price has impacts for us all.”

From an Apollo perspective where there is a change there is opportunity. Our business cannot control the oil price and associated effects, but we can embrace change and provide our clients the necessary engineering resource to support a successful energy transition to a low carbon economy.
