Apollo provided design assurance review services to National Grid Carbon (NGC) for the White Rose CCS (carbon capture and storage) project. The project proposed to capture the CO2 emissions from a new oxyfuel carbon capture enabled power station at Drax and transport them to a permanent offshore storage site via cross-country and subsea pipelines. Apollo partnered with Dundas Consultants Limited to provide the required services.
Following the conclusion of the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the White Rose project, National Grid Carbon (NGC) required an independent design assurance review in order to support a final investment decision. The scope of the review included offshore transportation, facilities, subsurface and wells.
Apollo provided a fully integrated team of discipline experts in Technical Safety, HSE, Process Engineering, Flow Assurance, Structural and Mechanical to NGC. The team supported NGC by reviewing the following:
Confirmation of the subsurface storage capability for anticipated volumes
